Fiona & Toby get married | Chelsea Old Church & The Waldorf, London
This is a selection of my favourite images from the wedding of Mr and Mrs Walker – Toby and Fiona. They are the perfect couple, happy, relaxed and lots and lots of fun! I really enjoyed photographing Fi and Toby’s wedding. A perfect day for the perfect couple.
The lead up to the wedding is a story in itself…Fi managed to break her foot only 6 weeks before wedding. So we were not really quite sure if she would actually be able to walk down the aisle. There was a strong possibility that she would be hobbling down it instead! However, with a lot of rest (not easy for the very active Fi!) Fi’s foot mended before their big day and the plaster was off. I can safely say that Fi glided down the aisle towards a very dapper Toby! Fiona wore a beautiful dress by Sassi Holford. Apparently Sassi was in the shop when Fi bought it! I am sure Sassi would have been delighted that Fiona picked one of her dresses, she looked truly stunning in it. The perfect model for a perfect dress. Toby looked every inch the English Gent in his Harrods suit and his blue and white polka dot tie.
This was the perfect London wedding, with the wedding ceremony taking place at the beautiful Chelsea Old Church. A white London cab brought Fi and her dad to the church. Everything about this church is wonderful and everything about Fi and Toby’s ceremony was wonderful too including their opera singing usher! Fiona and Toby are a stunning couple and I’m sure you’ll agree, make beautiful images.
After the ceremony, two route-masters took the guests to the reception venue, The Waldorf….where a fantastic band was waiting to serenade the guests while they sipped on champagne and ate their canapes.
The wedding breakfast took place in one of the most spectacular rooms that I have ever seen. The doors had been kept closed until guests were asked to take their seats, so the room was a huge surprise to everyone.
After the meal and some great speeches, it was time for another opera singing friend to wow the guests. This was followed by the first dance. Fiona’s dad played ‘True Love’ by Cole Porter on the piano as Fiona and Toby had their rather spectacular first dance as husband and wife.
Then the party started! I was really struck by how much fun everybody seemed to be having during this wedding. Fi and Toby later told me at their post honeymoon viewing that they went to a nightclub after the wedding!
Special thanks to my second photographer Clare, who did an amazing job as expected!
